Sharing my captures from Monday, April 17th... The anniversary of when Ford Mustang was released in 1964. We went on our first Mustang cruise and it was RAD! I'm a 60s girl at heart & I consider myself extremely fortunate to drive my dream car every day. This was our first Mustang cruise and I am proud to have been a part of it. To all my Boise Mustang friends... Thanks & Enjoy!

Winter in Boise

2/13/2017

Winter is nearly at an end and what a white winter is was! We drove up to Bogus Basin and watched people ski , sled and snowboard. We took our Holiday portraits by the river on a super snowy afternoon and helped a few families take theirs as well. We explored Downtown, rode the horse drawn carriage, enjoyed a fresh batch of donuts at Idaho Botanical Garden's annual Winter Aglow, we took our beloved 66 Mustang out for a photo shoot in the snow and we toured the Old Idaho Penitentiary one sunny winter afternoon. These past few months have been a dream come true and Idaho really feels like Idahome to us now. I already know we made the right choice moving to Boise and I could not be happier to be here.

adventures in our New Hometown...

Since we're still so new to Boise, I wanted to share some photos of all our latest adventures. We've been exploring quite a bit, taking portrait bookings here and there, but ultimately... just having a great time! Taking in all the sights, walking along The Greenbelt, admiring all the trees everywhere... Fall was absolutely incredible. So much color, so many falling leaves... like nothing I've ever seen before, it was breathtaking. I really enjoyed Kathryn Albertson Park and on Halloween, we took our daughter Trick-or-treating down Harrison Blvd which we had been dreaming of doing since the first moment we began to plan our move. To finish off the season, we drove through Boise National Forest to check out the amazing Kirkham Hot Springs. It was jaw-dropping, crazy beautiful combined with the ultimate relaxation and we were all in awe. I didn't want to leave that magical place.

my work is up in dtsa!

These past two months I've been extremely preoccupied, preparing for my first gallery opening at The Barrel Room in Downtown Santa Ana, CA. I spent pretty much all of my spare time in April editing my favorite pieces, ordering large canvas prints, sanding, transferring many of my photos onto wood, attaching hangers to the backs of each piece, creating labels, setting pricing, etc. I was scheduled to be the featured artist for the month of May & the plan was to be up just for that month... (this wine bar features a new artist every month), but the owners of the restaurant were so happy with the work they asked to keep it up through June as well. What an honor! I am so grateful for this opportunity & it's been a wonderful experience. I could not be more pleased with how everything turned out & I'm quite the perfectionist so that says a lot. The collection suits me to a T, the display is very unique and it all looks so amazing against the aged brick wall. How lucky that I was able to hold a gallery for my work in such a cool historical building! I'm hearing so many nice things from everyone that has gone to check it out & I actually just sold my "Nu'uanu Pali" piece with the green trees last week which is awesome! It feels great to know my work is loved and appreciated in the heart of the city where I grew up. The wine is delicious, the food is insaaanely addicting & the atmosphere is so relaxing. I love this place & I'm confident you will too! I've attached photos of the gallery for you here, in case you can't make it to DTSA before the end of the month. Keep in mind, a few things were moved around once I took down the piece that sold, but it still looks pretty rad. Post a comment below & let me know what you think. Enjoy!

March for Bernie, Pasadena CA

2/28/2016

Hello visitors. I had to take a few moments & get these photos up from this weekend's March for Bernie in Pasadena. It seems the media is in Hillary's campaign's pocket so if Bernie supporters want to spread the word on BERNIE SANDERS, we've got to do it ourselves. Well, that's fine... we don't need them. Challenge accepted. If they won't do their jobs right to spread the latest in Bernie news, guess what -- the internet is a big place & we can do it ourselves. They cannot silence us! If you missed the March on Saturday... check out these photos of all the awesome peeps spending their weekend shouting out for Bernie in downtown Pasadena & then do a little googling to see people that marched for Bernie all over the country! Share it, tweet it, hashtag it and tell your friends to do the same! We really need all the support we can get for this amazing man. That's all for now. Thanks for stopping in to see my latest!

This Halloween, I had the privilege of photographing a gorgeous wedding in Los Angeles for someone I've known a very long time. It was wonderful to reconnect with Ruth and meet her fiance prior to the event and even more wonderful to watch her marry the man she loves. Ruth was always a happy person, but I've never seen her happier than she was on her wedding day and I feel blessed to have been able to capture their genuine love and joy . We met up early to take portraits at Pasadena City Hall which was great because it allowed them the time to really enjoy the rest of their day without interruption after the ceremony. The wedding took place at an adorable little place in LA called Huron Substation. The whole day went smoothly... No one was late, no one forgot anything, I had Gabriel there to back me up and we were a great team. I didn't feel too rushed or stressed and we covered everything with ease. The ceremony was so moving - SO much love, I got teary eyed while I was shooting! The reception was beautiful, the food was fantastic, the guests had a wonderful time. All in all, we had a blast photographing this event and as you can see from these photos... so did the happy couple!

This past weekend I had the honor of photographing an awesome cruise wedding aboard the Admiral Hornblower in San Diego, CA. The brides were stunning, the guests were so happy to be there to help celebrate such a special day. You could feel the love and support all around, it was wonderful. The weather was just perfect - like things just fell right into place. The ceremony was on the upper deck overlooking San Diego Bay and the Coronado Bridge. It was a breathtakingly beautiful view which was fitting for the joining of such a beautiful couple. There were lots of friends and family there and so many happy tears. The celebration was filled with delicious food, an incredibly talented band & lots and lots of dancing. Everyone had smiles from ear to ear all afternoon, it was an amazing day. Truly, an unforgettable event for all. Check out the photos below!

Summer Days in Boise

7/21/2015

Well, I've finally managed to get this blog up and running - and I've got an interesting topic for my first post: Boise. For the past year, we've been looking into possibly relocating there to purchase our first home. So this Summer, we decided to spend a few weeks checking our the area. More than a 14 hour drive from Southern CA, but it was worth it. Boise was just what I imagined it would be. Very different from California... Very green and clean, lots to do, lots of places to check out, the people are so nice and the weather was awesome. In what was record breaking heat for Boise, some days more than 106... it felt more like 95 degrees, the breeze was cool and on the days that were cooler, we were able to experience Boise rain, thunder & lightning... in July! Very unusual for us, but the locals informed me that it's quite normal for Summers to be unpredictably humid and wet at times. I've always loved the smell of rain but it was even better there. I couldn't just smell the rain... I could smell the trees too and that was awwwwesome. The downtown area was amazing. Much bigger than anything we're used to in Orange County. There was so much street art, so much color and so many inspirational quotes splattered all over the walls in what the locals call "Freak Alley". I felt at home there.

In a way, it was hard to be there, away from everyone I love here in CA. Like, how can I fully enjoy all these new and wonderful things without wishing I was able to enjoy it with my friends and family? It was a big eye-opener for me. When it rained, I thought of my parents. My dad would have loved the smell of rain & the trees. My mom would've enjoyed seeing the Botanical Gardens. I know most of my friends would've had a blast in downtown, my nephew would've been so excited to go river rafting, and my best friend would have been in heaven wandering around the Old Idaho Penitentiary. As much as I enjoyed doing all these things with my husband and my daughter, it still made me kinda sad to be so far away from everyone we love. Of course, I knew that if we do move to Boise... whenever that is... I'd miss them all everyday. I took as many photos as I could to share when we got home. You can check out the gallery of more photos from the trip here!
